Gorilla Timmy

Gorilla Timmy

Timmy was the male silver back at the Cleveland Zoo for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately Kate the female was not fertile and Timmy needed to have offspring. To the chagrin of Clevelanders he was moved to the Brox Zoo where he has sired several babies.

Timmy would sit in his enclosure close to the glass waiting for unexpected visitor to get close. He would then, with his mighty fist, hit the glass and send people running.

He would then go back and sit in the corner and occasionally look to see what reaction he had achieved. That is the painting, his look over the shoulder. Pretty funny.
