I lost my beloved golden retriever this summer. Then I bought a print from Doug of a golden - looked exactly like my "Goldie"! When I wrote Doug about my loss, he not only signed the rpint with lovely words of condolence, he also included another print dedicated to my dog, complete with his name and everything! I was so touched! So you see, Doug is not only a talented artist, he is a wonderful person as well. I wish him all the best in his career. He and his works have touched my life in a very profound way.

Your art is beautifully full of emotion. You seem to have linked with your subjects, capturing their essence. I don't pretend to know much about art, as I'm no artist. But I know what I like and I know what evokes emotion within. I know when I look at something whether I can "feel" it or not. As a youngster, my favorite hideout was in the woods where I saw a lot of wildlife while sitting perched quietly in a tree with my faithfully quiet dog sitting at it's base. Linking with wildlife, visually is something I did often. Catching their glance, and holding it. Trying to read each other's minds, while gazing into each other's eyes, before they ambled or bounded away. Your art is beautiful.
Do you foresee doing more horses? Or perhaps even domestic pets in their natural habitat (ex: hound dog hunting, farm cat mousing, etc). I would be interested in something like that.

Hi Doug. I had purchased 2 of your prints a while back- (paint horses & a buffalo) They are exhibited in my livingroom where everyone can see them. Your scenery pictures are beautiful and I really like the one winter barn scene as well as the cabin.
